My buddy's dad has one of those. Actually he has one of each of these. I drove the 280SL a bunch in Martha's Vineyard a few summers ago.

Really. He's a super nice guy and he quite understands that my automotive enthusiasm surpasses that of his own son, so we bond over cars. Here's a quick video of the 300SL Roadster, which I have not driven, yet :)

You must have friends in high places. Good God that is a stunning car. Maybe I am weird but I always preferred the 300SL Roadster to the coupe.
